Michael Privett joined Ross Doolittle, Kirk Lawrence, Doug Haskins and Jana Doolittle in July of 2001 with his blues/jazz style guitar.
The group made several appearances during 2001, including the Clio Amphitheater, Baker's of Milford, and Ristro's Bistro in Owosso. In December, Zero Gravity Band played Memphis Smoke in Royal Oak to a full house that thoroughly enjoyed the show. It was taped for broadcast by PBS station WFUM TV-28 in Flint, Michigan.
